Alexus Russell is Program Manager, Supplier Diversity for California and Hawaii at California-American Water Company. Alexus is responsible for developing and managing the initiatives to engage and collaborate with a diverse range of suppliers, including hose owned by minorities, women, disabled-veterans, and LGBT+. Alexus seeks to create an inclusive procurement process and fosters long-term partnerships with diverse suppliers to promote economic growth and enhance social responsibility efforts. Alexus is an active member of the California Water Association. She is both a member of the Utility Supplier Diversity Committee and Co-Chair of the DEI Committee. Alexus is a part of the Veterans in Business Advisory Board and is a mentor for the BRAVO Mentor Protégé Program. Alexus was born in Chattanooga, TN and moved to San Diego when she attended the University of San Diego (go Toreros). Alexus studied International Business and Supply Chain Management. She began her career in procurement, managing and overseeing the Engineering and Capital Programs. She has now combined her procurement background with her passion for advocacy with her new role in Supplier Diversity. Outside of work, Alexus loves to enjoy the beautiful scenery of San Diego at the beach or hiking, Pilates, skiing, and golfing.
