Everywhere we look, an emergency is happening impacting utilities and utility customers. How are we ensuring that diverse suppliers are fully integrated into utility emergency and disaster preparedness supply chains? At times like this, there are huge spikes in spending in critical areas and if DBEs are not already integrated into those value chains, it is unlikely that they will suddenly get an opportunity in an emergency. On top of that we may be prepared for the “usual” emergencies within our supply chain, but what happens with “unusual” emergencies?
